HUNT & HIKE
– a BUFFALO in South Africa
In our unique camp in Kruger, South Africa, we invite you on a hunting trip out of the ordinary. Here its us – Trine and Rikke – who welcome you with passion, experience and deep local knowledge. We have hunted across continents, but this particular journey stands out as the most different of them all. Surrounded by an impressive landscape and abundant wildlife, we tailor your experience from start to finish – from first contact to departure at the airport.
Join us in the legendary Greater Kruger region where we offer uncompromising hunting at eye level with one of the continent’s most respected and fearsome adversaries – the iconic Hard Boss buffalo. With exclusive access to the Kruger National Park, we set up an authentic and minimalist camp in the middle of the wilderness, putting you close to the raw pulse of nature and where it all happens.
.
THE HUNT
Hunt & Hike gives you access to a unique and inaccessible part of the Kruger National Park. You’ll stay in a simple but comfortable tented camp in the middle of the national park – an area where very few are allowed to stay overnight. There are no luxuries, but everything you need: campfires, starry skies and the sounds of the game around you. The camp serves as a base for your hunt and places you in the middle of the African bush, close to nature and far from distractions.
Just a 15-minute drive from the camp is the hunting area where you hunt the Hard Boss buffalo – one of Africa’s most challenging opponents. The hunt is intense and takes place in dense bush, making both physical and mental demands. You’ll hunt one-on-one with our experienced Professional Guide (PH) who prioritizes safety, respect for the game and quality of the hunt.
It’s also possible to hunt buffalo within the boundaries of the Kruger National Park itself, for those who want the most exclusive and challenging experience.
SHARE THE EXPERIENCE
With us, it is possible to bring companions – it can be your partner, a family member or a friend. Companions can participate as observers and gain a unique insight into the hunt and life in the bush, or they can take an active part in parts of the trip, depending on wishes and agreement.
We, Rikke and Trine, are often present at the camp and occasionally participate in the hunt. This contributes to a personal and engaged atmosphere, where there is time for both exchange of experience and community around the values of hunting and the presence of nature.
HUNTING PERIODS
June – July
Hunting for Hard Boss buffalo takes place all year round, but the period from July to June (the South African winter) offers particularly good conditions. The vegetation is sparse, and there are fewer leaves on the trees and bushes, which makes it easier to spot and stalk the buffalo on foot in the dense bush. This provides a more efficient and visually intense hunting experience, where you really get close to the animal and the surroundings.
At the same time, it is a pleasant time to be in the bush around the clock. The temperature is lower, humidity is lower and the amount of insects is significantly reduced. There are also fewer snakes during this period, making the overall stay both safer and more comfortable. All in all, winter in Greater Kruger creates optimal conditions for both hunting and the experience of being present in the middle of the African wilderness.
The area
Our hunting grounds are located in the Greater Kruger region – one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife areas. Here we have private concessions ranging from 1,500 to 22,000 hectares, all located in Big Five zones where buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard and rhino occur naturally.
The area is created for hunting and offers the opportunity to combine classic, stalking hunting with authentic safari experiences – depending on your desire and level of experience. Here you get a raw and genuine hunting experience in one of South Africa’s most sought-after hunting destinations.
The journey there
Your journey begins in Johannesburg, where most international flights land. From here, you have two options for getting to the hunting area: you can take a shuttle bus or rent a car and drive yourself – the trip takes about 5-6 hours through varied South African countryside. Alternatively, you can opt for a domestic flight to Hoedspruit, which is about an hour’s drive from the camp.
Upon arrival in our area, your stay starts with an overnight stay in a comfortable and luxurious lodge. Here you’ll have the opportunity to land after your journey, enjoy good food and be pampered while you sort out your gear. We’ll also take a trip to the shooting range to make sure everything is as it should be before the hunt begins. The next day you’ll head out into the bush where you’ll stay in a tented camp for the duration of the hunt. You’ll be in the middle of the wilderness 24/7 and this is as close to nature as you’ll get. On the last day of the trip, we return to the lodge where you can enjoy a hot shower, celebrate your hunting experiences and round off in peaceful and comfortable surroundings.

LOGI
Our camp is something very special and differs significantly from the classic safari or hunting lodge. Here you live in the middle of the bush – without fences, without distance from nature and with a clear view of the savannah. It’s a simple but authentic tented camp, where animals can pass close by and where you really feel the presence of the wilderness around the clock.
Meals are cooked over a campfire and you’ll have the opportunity to taste the game you’ve hunted yourself, such as buffalo. The camp is equipped with showers and toilets in a simple but functional setting that suits the primitive and honest experience. It’s not luxury in the traditional sense, but it’s comfort enough to settle in and find peace – and that’s a big part of the experience.

A group from the Netherlands joined us for fallow deer hunt in Sweden ❄️
Peter-Jan booked the trip a year ago for himself, his father, and his father’s friend. It was their first time hunting fallow deer, and they wanted a proper hands-on experience.
We had some great stalks in crisp snow and freezing temperatures through the Swedish forests — real winter conditions cause everything in our camp was frozen solid.
It was nice sharing stories about hunting traditions and learning more about how things are done in the Netherlands - we learned how limited hunting unfortunately is in their home country...
Thank you for the good company and positive attitude.
Safe travels home — See you again. 🌠

A small update on our moose hunts – we can now say that only one spot remains for 2027. 🫎
Moose hunting in Canada is one of the things we are most passionate about. The moose is a truly majestic animal, and anyone who thinks it is clumsy has never experienced one in real life. 🖐🏼
Our moose hunts are about the full experience. The moose is a massive animal, and everything must be planned from start to finish. It is hard work, but the reward is immense when you fight for your trophy and later enjoy the meat. 🏔️
We are already looking forward to our fall season when we will welcome some great clients visiting us here in Canada.
2026 – Sold out 🤍
2027 – 1 spot remaining (September 13–22)

What a week. 🏕️
We spent a full week in Sweden hunting with our first group from Mexico and the US. It was a custom trip where they got a feel for Scandinavian hunting traditions and were shown around both Sweden and Denmark.
These guys have hunted all over the world, and this time it was fallow deer in Sweden with us. Long days and cold nights, minus temperatures, sleeping in tents, and plenty of stalks on what sounded like cornflakes.. ❄️
They tried fallow deer for the first time – and we all loved it. Stews, burgers, and lots of good meals made from the deer we hunted.
Thanks for the visit, guys. Hopefully we’ll see each other again in the autumn – either in Mexico or back on Scandinavian hunting grounds. 🤍
If you’re looking for a tailor-made hunting trip, we’re always happy to put something together. 🖐🏼
Welcome to our camps around the world.
This is the atmosphere we offer on our hunting trips.
For us, hunting is about being right where it all happens — not staying in a lodge with a fancy setup, but living close to nature.
Our luxury is the surroundings, the simplicity, and true Danish `hygge` ✨

From January to December – the year truly flew by. Here’s a little look back at everything 2025 had to offer. 🌠
So, what have we been up to in our little venture?
January kicked off with a trip to Sweden together with clients, along with two children’s camps where we taught them about hunting and nature. February took us to Scotland – partly for hunting, partly to scout areas that may become a future Hunt & Hike destination. 🏕️
In March, we hosted lectures and headed off on our very first trip to South Africa with a client – and we’re already returning there with guests again in the new year. April brought us back home to Denmark, where we slowed down, spent time with family and friends. 🤍
May and June were spent in Canada, guiding black bear hunts with our very first Danish hunting guests. July meant more lectures, along with scouting trips in both Denmark and Sweden to keep a close eye on what’s moving in the terrain. 🦌
August was all about preparation – and a very special moment, as dad joined us in Canada for the first time. In September, the autumn season truly kicked off in Canada, and we also celebrated turning 32 years young. 🏔️
September, October, and November flew by with happy hunting guests returning home with their dream trophies. At the end of November, we were back in Sweden to welcome a group hunting fallow deer, followed by a corporate event in Denmark. 🌄
December wrapped up the year back in Sweden with our very last hunting group – and then, suddenly, it was Christmas. 🎄
Thank you for a truly wonderful year. We’re excited and curious to see what 2026 has in store.
If you’d like to join us in 2026, don’t hesitate to reach out. There’s still room for corporate events, talks, and hunting adventures. 🖐🏼
Best,
Trine & Rikke

Many of you have been asking us about dad’s mountain goat. 💭
The truth is, he didn’t get one on that hunt. But instead, we shared an experience we’ll remember forever.
Instead, he received a piece of wool we found from a mountain goat high up in the mountains as a Christmas gift, along with our homemade little wooden mountain goat. 🐑
And somehow, it’s perfectly fine that he didn’t get one this time — because the next trip is already on the drawing board. We’re going to get that goat, and it’ll happen in 2027 hopefully.
Thank you for the adventure, and wishing you a very cozy Christmas Eve surrounded by family. 🎄
