HUNT & HIKE
GSS
How we work with ESG
We don't publish fancy reports on our work with environmental, social and governance issues. Instead, we work to promote responsible hunting, respect for the environment, and the value and importance of nature to our well-being through the teachings and adventures at every event we organise.
Environmental / environmental conditions
Environmental issues are about how we use and protect the world's natural resources.
How we work with significant environmental issues
- We only serve protein sources with a carbon footprint of less than 3 kilos (per kilo protein source), which is met by game meat, bird meat, seafood, eggs, nuts and legumes (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Mat-miljö-listan, 2014).
- We endeavour to sort and safely dispose of 100% of our waste by the end of 2024 to increase recycling as part of the transition to a circular economy. We follow the City of Copenhagen's sorting guide.
- We try to minimise material aids at events and camps, but instead orientate ourselves towards nature to find tools for training, teaching and activities.
- 100% avoid disposable packaging and services for customer events by the end of 2024.
- Measure the number of kilometres driven by car by 2024 and then set goals to minimise the distance. We can do this by holding internal meetings online, but recognise the challenge of customer events, which are often remotely located.
Social relationships
Social relationships are about caring for people and relationships.
How we work with significant social issues
- By the end of 2024, we want to measure satisfaction on a number of parameters among participants over the age of 15 at our events.
Among other things, the survey will measure satisfaction with the language used by Hunt & Hike employees, as well as consideration for disabilities and individual needs.
- We comply with applicable laws, including data protection and privacy laws.
- As we test concepts and build our business during 2023-2024, we utilise our existing network when we need extra resources.
We are aware of the risk of homogeneity in this and want to work actively with diversity from 2025 when we expect to scale the business using employees.
- We endeavour to pay a fixed fair salary to our employees by the end of 2024, where we expect increased predictability of income and expenses.
Governance / management issues
Management is about how we make and sustain decisions.
How we work with material governance issues
- We are aware of the strong network in the hunting industry, which includes befriending and bartering. We comply with applicable laws and accounting practices, including receiving and selling services on competitive terms at all times.
- We use professional legal counselling in internal and external contractual contexts.
- We are aware of family relationships in management and ownership. We strive to minimise potential negative consequences of this by securing independent investors in ownership agreements and by employing independent board members as well as other employees in the future.
